Choose a struggle or conflict at your university, i.e., a head coach in ethics violation, a fraternity censured for wild parties, students involved in racist activities, some student groups feeling discriminated against or marginalized, conflicts between wellknown faculty and the administration, student cheating scandals, etc. Then write a story that is meant to illustrate some concept or value. Here is what the story must have:
a. A protagonist or hero (or anti-hero). Start with a real person so the conflict is more interesting to the listeners.
b. Describe the moment when the hero’s conflicts start.
c. Bring in other players (these are all real people in the situation) who complicate the situation, who create even more conflicts.
d. Show the ups and downs, the wins and losses along the way.
e. Describe how the hero and those around the hero resolve the problems and what they had to overcome.
f. Make sure you include some adages such as, “a stitch in time saves nine,” “the early bird catches the worm,” etc.
g. What was the concept or value your story is based on.
h. Ensure the story is written in a way that would help the powers see how important it is to help resolve the problem or prevent further problems in the future.LO.1
