I stumbled on this manufacturing book because my professor recommended it for the MES class I'm taking and I'd gotta say Chapter 5 totally hit me—I was lost before getting into it since executing manufacturing plans seemed too vague to me to really grasp. But reading how it breaks down real steps for workflow impacts on the shop floor made me literally go, "Oh wow, that’s how it links!" That part on production scheduling crash courses was kinda eye-opening since I'd overlooked how MES tools help fix bottlenecks during peak load times.
Honestly, before flipping to that chapter I didn't believe the textbook could make the process yourself-and-system so easy to understand but it really spells it out nicely so it clicked quick. It's neat too that the graphs weren't super basic or too busy—just clean enough to get the important stuff across, something connecting the dots right on the page for me. Plus I scooped up this book at a sweet discount so feeling double happy holding such a useful resource without breaking the bank.
One thing that threw me off slightly was the chapter walked through some software examples that seemed a little dated — but that’s forgivable since fundamentals are still solid learning here for starting out. Also delivers right to my doorpost crazy fast, the package still perfect without a crease or anything.
Thinking about applying some ideas from that bit dealing with production tracking to my part-time plant internship soon, hoping it speeds thing up for my team somehow. I feel like it’s gonna stick with me going forward because what clicked about coordination got clearer than ever, definitely
worth recommending if you’re kinda fumbling in how system and operations meet. All around, read that Chapter 5 first if you want chance to really get what the buzz is about in MES.

This book is a phenomenal resource for anyone in the field of operations management. The second edition of 'Manufacturing Execution Systems' dives deep into integrating theory with real-world applications effectively. The examples provided are practical and can be directly applied to improve operational processes. The book was a lifesaver for my recent project implementation. Also, it arrived quicker than expected and was well-packaged. I have a subscription and got a great deal on it.
