While looking for something to help me make sense of that pesky foreign currency stuff in my accounting class, I stumbled on this cool textbook and snapped it up—it was free actually, so couldn’t resist. Chapter 11 on foreign currency transactions really jumped out at me. At first, the whole idea of multiple currencies always threw me off, it felt like a confusing maze with rates changing all the time, messing up records and altering values I thought were fixed. But as I went through that chapter, it kinda clicked—especially the examples where they walk through actual currency conversions step by step. There was this one example where the spot rate shifts between transaction and settlement dates, and it showed how to record resulting gains or losses. That's something I never got before and it suddenly made the accounting behind it really straightforward, almost like a light switched on inside my brain! I actually used some of those accounting entries straight away for a group project where we imagined dealing with cross-border invoicing—my notes from the chapter helped avoid a bunch of guesswork and saved a lot of awkward back and forth. What I liked is that while the chapter went deep enough to cover tricky issues, it didn’t bury me under jargon I didn’t get. It’s got great examples but I wish there were maybe a few quick summaries at the end just to tighten things up. The book feels kind of textbook heavy in places, could use a bit more breathing room. If you’re clawing your way through accounting and happen to deal with foreign money? This chapter is legit helpful. Like the whole book so far, the explanations hit just the right spot between enough detail and not overwhelming. Glad I got this free chance at it—it’s been a handy companion so far.

I found out this book was free, so I grabbed it for my course ACCT 402: Advanced Topics in Canadian Accounting. It came quicker than I expected which was awesome, and the cover and pages look clean and crisp. Haven't really gone through everything yet but flipping through looks really encouraging – the layout isn’t overwhelming and the explanations seem straightforward. For now, just happy it showed up so fast and seems like it’ll make the tough topics easier to handle. Def a nice surprise knowing I didn’t even pay for it but it’s already feeling valuable.

Got this book to supplement my accounting classes, and it’s been pretty useful. It explains advanced concepts in a way that’s not overwhelming and includes excellent examples to illustrate the points. I particularly appreciated the chapters on consolidations and foreign currency transactions, which are often tough to grasp. It also arrived quickly and I got an extra discount with my membership, which was a nice bonus. However, a few of the chapters felt a bit dense. Still, it's an excellent supplementary resource!

Trying to keep up with my Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting studies, this textbook actually surprised me in a good way. It was free, which is awesome given how pricey some accounting books are, and it overall feels pretty sturdy and clean. I haven't slogged through the whole thing yet but the chapters on consolidations made some tricky stuff way easier to get, without throwing a ton of confusing jargon at me. Not the most exciting read but it's definitely helped me tackle assignments better and I like that it’s clear without being boring.

My copy took a wild trip across states, bouncing from NY to CA and back like it had no clue where to go—felt like tracking it was more stressful than my accounting test. Seriously, why would a package from Canada get rerouted like that? At least it was free, or I’d be pretty annoyed.
