I stumbled upon this book while searching for materials to make sense of system development concepts for my project. Before getting it, I kept getting stuck on how to properly organize system requirements without losing track of anything. When I got to Chapter 6 about Requirements Gathering, it kind of clicked for me. The way it breaks down interviews, questionnaires, and JAD sessions felt way easier than I expected and actually made those confusing parts simple-ish. It laid out not just the what, but when and why to choose each method, which was huge because I’d been stuck picking the right approach. One moment that really stuck is where the book showed examples of pitfalls during requirements collection – that eye-opener made me rethink some assumptions I had on my team’s approach. I tried using a checklist style from that chapter to guide our next meeting, and it made a noticeable difference—fewer misunderstandings, better clarity from everybody involved. That said, sometimes, I wished the writing was a bit more straightforward because some pages got a little wordy or dry, which slowed me down a bit. But given it was free, I can't complain at all. If you're wrestling with basics of how to get requirements down, I’d say this makes a pretty useful go-to even if a few sections drag a bit. Feels like exactly what I need for now, and some insights will probably stick with me when I work on future projects. Not flashy, but strong enough and actually helpful. Happy it showed up so nicely! A solid pickup for anyone new-ish to systems stuff.

So apparently my book was just dropped on the sidewalk outside my place with no notice and by the time I got to it, the cover was pretty smashed and dirty. Kinda sucks since it’s supposed to be a special free textbook. Hope next time they don’t just toss the package around like that.

Needed a textbook for my Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, and this one popped up for free — totally wasn’t expecting much but turns out it’s pretty decent. The quality of the print and paper is solid, and I started flicking through chapters on analysis and design, which seem clear enough though some bits are heavy with info. Shipping was up to par, same week arrival and looks brand new. Will keep using it to help with studying but not gonna lie, some parts could use less fluff. Still happy to get a free book that actually helps!

The book is undoubtedly thorough, but it can be quite dense at times. It covers a lot of ground, which could be overwhelming for someone new to the field. I appreciated the case studies, yet I wish some concepts were simplified. Overall, a decent book with all the perks promised during delivery, but pace yourself while reading.

Honestly, the book felt like a slog. While it's detailed, some of the information could have been condensed. There are numerous concepts with jargon-heavy explanations. On the plus side, the book arrived on time and in good condition with all membership extras.

While the information is solid, it’s not the easiest read for beginners. Some sections felt unnecessarily complex. However, it's definitely a must-have for understanding system design fundamentals. Delivery was flawless.
