Book Summary: Jules Verne Wrote A Book Titled The Mysterious Island, Which Was First Published In 1875. Jules Férat Provided Many Pictures For The Hetzel-published First Edition. Although It Has Quite Different Subjects From Earlier Books, The Book Is A Crossover Sequel To Jules Verne's Well-known Works Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Seas (1870) And In Search Of The Castaways (1867–68). Verne Developed A Similar Theme In His Later Book, Godfrey Morgan (French: L'École Des Robinsons, 1882). An Early Draft Of The Book, Initially Rejected By Verne's Publisher And Completely Reconceived Before Publication, Was Titled Shipwrecked Family: Marooned With Uncle Robinson. It Was Thought To Indicate The Influence Of The Books Robinson Crusoe And The Swiss Family Robinson.
