The point is often made that formal schooling can actually discourage young children from following their natural curiosity. Curiosity is an important element of creativity, and so it may be the case that schools indirectly and inadvertently cause children to become less creative than they might be. What does this imply for those of us who have attended school for many years? What can you suggest to today’s educators as ways to encourage children to be curious and creative?
