The village of Whitefish Bay uses a private insurance carrier to cover its automobile fleet. The carrier contends that it pays 90% of all claims within 30 days after the claims are filed. The department wants to check this out without going through a complete audit. Analyst Susan Medford takes a sample of 100 claims from last year and finds that 82 were paid within 30 days.
