A 3-year-old child turned on the hot water in a bathtub. His 11-month-old sister climbed into the tub and was severely burned before being rescued by her mother. The child died from the burns. The mother sued the hot water tank maker for installing a thermostat that allowed the water to reach 170 degrees, which was the industry standard. Is that a design defect? [Williams v.
