Older Americans are often described as more politically engaged than younger Americans. One measure of political engagement is election voting. Loraine West and her U.S. Census Bureau colleagues (2014) presented the following bar graph reporting the 2012 Presidential election voting by age group. Note that the voting in the Presidential election is presented with frequencies (in millions) and by percentage.
