The file ...birth-death.R contains the data compiled by Phillips and Feldman (1973) on the month of birth and the month of death of 348 'famous Americans'. Investigate whether the month of death is or is not independent of the month of birth. The data are given as a \(12 \times 12\) table of event counts. (This is not a generic contingency table because the row labels and the column labels are not only the same, but also cyclically ordered. Both aspects of the structure are relevant to the question posed, and both should be exploited in your analysis.)
