Companies and individuals can use the Internet to find Requests for Proposals (RFPs) that they can respond to with proposals to complete specific projects or supply goods or services in a wide range of industries. For example, a company that conducts training seminars can search government Web sites to find RFPs for training services.

To complete this case study, you will gather information about two Web sites that provide companies and individuals with the opportunity to view and submit RFPs.

1. Open the file Research_08.docx located in the Project.08 folder in your Data Files, and then save the document as Researching RFP Opportunities.docx in the same folder.

2. Open yourWeb browser, and then search forWeb sites that list RFP opportunities. You can use search terms such as Request for Proposal Opportunities, Government RFP, state and federal RFP opportunities, and so on. Your goal is to findWeb sites that maintain listings of RFP opportunities. Note that someWeb sites charge companies to access listings; however, you can determine information required to complete this case study without paying.

3. Find two Web sites that maintain listings of RFP opportunities.

a. Enter information about each of the Web sites in the space provided in the Researching RFP Opportunities document. Note:To copy aWeb address, click the Address box, be sure the URL is selected, press [Ctrl]+[C], switch to the Word document, click in the blank cell to the right ofWeb Site Address, and then press

[Ctrl]+[V].

4. Type your name where indicated in the footer, save the document, print a copy, and then close the document.
