Find a survey you were asked to complete recently. You might see one in your email, or you might see one appear when you’re on a web page. As you complete the survey, answer the following questions:

a. How persuasive is the message asking you to complete the survey? What is the stated purpose and value of participation to you? How could the message be more persuasive?

b. How easy is the survey to complete? How long does it take? Do you find it a burden or interesting to answer the questions?

c. What types of questions are used? Do you see a variety of open- and closed-ended questions? Are they chosen well?

d. How are questions worded? Are they clear and easy to understand? Are they written to avoid bias? Are the answer choices mutually exclusive, with no overlap?

e. What demographic information is collected? How comfortable do you feel answering those questions? If you skipped a question, why did you? Could it have been worded differently to make it easier to answer?
