Teamwork. Divide the class into teams of two. Each team member should select a children’s book or an excerpt that can be read to his or her partner in about ten minutes. Each reader should use his or her voice qualities to make the book “come alive. ” When each person finishes reading, the listener will critique the voice quality and delivery. The comments for the reader should concentrate specifically on the volume, tone, inflection, speed, and pitch of the reading voice.
