Question:
The Internet has become a good source of information about grammar rules and usage.
Several Web sites provide a user-friendly interface to help you find answers to grammar questions. To complete this case study, you explore a grammar Web site and record information about three grammar issues of your choice.
1. Open the file Research_01.docx located in the Project.01 folder in your Data Files, and then save the document as Researching Grammar Issues in the same folder.
2. Open your Web browser, and then search for Web sites that provide information about grammar rules and guidelines. Hint: Use search terms such as grammar, grammar rules, and grammar guidelines.
3. Select a Web site and then explore it to find information about three grammar issues that interest you. For example, you may want to know how to use that correctly in a sentence, or the difference between it’s and its or when to use lay and lie. Hint:
Some Web sites include an index that you can use to see all the topics available.
4. In the table provided in the Researching Grammar Issues document, identify each of the grammar issues you have selected and then summarize the information provided on the Web site about each issue. Provide examples where possible. Note that some of the topics will include a great deal of information. Look for topics that describe specific grammar problems clearly and succinctly. For example, choose a topic such as split infinitives rather than a broad topic such as verbs.
5. Type your name as indicated in the footer, save the document, print a copy, and then close the document.
