Adam is an SLP who works for a local public preschool. Whenever a new student is seen for a speech-language evaluation, Adam collects case history information, including medical information about the child. During a recent evaluation, Adam learned that Jasmine, a 3-year-old girl with specific language impairment, was born prematurely and had prenatal exposure to alcohol and cocaine. Adam is also an assistant coach for the high school baseball team in the same public school district.
