1. Nonverbal Characteristics of Other Cultures. Books, journals, and periodicals frequently have articles relevant to nonverbal communication habits of different countries. Search out an article or a chapter in a book (ABI Inform is a good source under the term intercultural), and then do two things after reading your material: (1) summarize some of the nonverbal habits of the country under discussion and (2) suggest how some of those same nonverbal habits are used or not used in the United States.
