The basic structure of the dialectic is explained on p.195. In this definition box we will describe a particular sequence of dialectics, part of a wider set of dialectics described in the Phenomenology of Spirit (Hegel, 2003: 104–30). The three dialectic processes are:

a. the dialectic of self-consciousness;

b. the dialectic of master and slave; and

c. the dialectic of unhappy consciousness.
