Natura Cosmeticos SA, Brazil’s all natural, ethically-sourced, sustainable beauty products company, recently purchased Avon Products Inc. as a way to enter the U.S., Europe, and Chinese cosmetics markets. Natura wants to serve millennial and Generation Z consumers, who believe they can make a difference by the products they purchase. Natura sells via door-to-door and via bricks-and-mortar stores in Brazil. Avon’s strength is its direct to home beauty consultants, but it has more success in 27 markets outside the U.S. than in the U.S. where it started. Design an experiment to test the viability of Natura’s plan to turn its 6 million consultants into social media influencer– sellers.
