I’m a graduate of North Carolina Central University. I completed my M.A. with a concentration in General Psychology in December of 2009, and I am well trained in the use of APA Style and research methods. I also have five years of teaching experience. I worked in the field of Psychology for over five years, and I hold the title of Qualified Mental Health Professional. While completing my Master of Arts in Psychology at North Carolina Central University, I worked for four years as a substitute teacher, and I taught the grades kindergarten through high school. My duties included writing and implementing daily lesson plans for my pupils: including assigning classwork and quizzes. During the fall semester of 2010, I worked as a Temporary Adjunct Professor at Talladega College. In this position, I taught two classes of General Psychology, and one class of the Theories of Personality. My duties included preparing course outlines and lectures. I provided my students with an overview of APA Style, Psychological theories, the application of these theories, and ethical considerations relevant to the practice of Psychology. I also taught my students methods of data collection, and gave them instruction in writing research papers. This included meeting with them during my office hours, critiquing their assignments, and providing constructive feedback. I had a wonderful rapport with my students, and they gave excellent recommendations of my performance.
I've been trained in the use of social science theory and experimentation. This means that I able to assist students in understanding these theories, as well as helping them to understand how to design an experiment and interpret the results. Moreover, as someone with years of experience in writing nonfiction and fiction, I can explain, step by step, how to write an essay and also ensure that it is grammatically correct. Finally, I pride myself on explaining things in clear cut and easy to understand language, that is free of confusing jargon.
