3.53 Comparing word clouds and subjective well-being: Social science researchers are increasingly using word clouds to convey their results. A research team from the Netherlands asked 66 older adults to generate a list of what they perceive to be important to their well-being (Douma et al., 2015). Based on these lists, the researchers identified 15 general areas perceived to be related to well-being. They created a version of the word cloud shown here to visualize the frequency that each of these areas was mentioned.
