To study economic growth, we must look at the production possibilities for a consumption good—a smartphone—and a capital good—a smartphone factory. By using resources to produce smartphone factories, the economy can expand its future production possibilities. The greater the production of new capital—of new smartphone factories—the faster is the expansion of production possibilities.


