Are these databases and tools available today? Another consideration is clinical research: in oncology, for example, currently fewer than 5 percent of all patients eligible for a clinical trial are actually enrolled in one, largely due to logistical difficulties with data collection and reporting at most physicians' offices. In what ways might the "information superhighway" facilitate your or your colleagues' participation in organized clinical research activities?
