Greinert (2002) presents three paradigms which lend shape and form to the institutions in the countries they relate to. How far can you see Greinert’s paradigms reflected in the NVET systems in France, Germany and the UK?

 In Britain the production relationship is regarded as no more than a market process in which the market participants are members of society. The image of law is correspondingly negative.

 In France, the production relationship is seen as a political entity. Central control of working life is given to the state.

In Germany the production relationship is regarded as a kind of community which has a tradition of reciprocal responsibility and consideration of the whole. It is based on active social partnership.
