Question:
If you don’t remember what statistical signicance is, review Unit 1 on research methodology. What is the dierence between statistical signicance and the eect size?
With large sample sizes even small eects can be statistically signicant. This tells us that they are denitely larger than zero, but this does not mean that they are large. Does it pose a problem for experimental research in psychology on the whole? To maintain high population validity, we want large samples. But with large samples even tiny dierences between the experimental and the control group may be found to be statistically signicant.
What would be your solution to this problem?
