Which U.S. companies do you think would be rated the most ethical and socially responsible? Each year Ethicsphere, a New York City think tank, publishes a list of World’s Most Ethical Companies. Included in the 2016 list are Allstate, Cisco, Intel, Kellogg, LinkedIn, Microsoft, and Xerox.

However, Microsoft has been involved in several scandals including paying bloggers to write “unsolicited”

positive reviews of their products and criticized for sexism when they hired dancing girls at a 2016 “boys club”

gaming event. Intel has been criticized for extreme lack of diversity in their staff—

discussed later in the chapter. Should these practices preclude them from being as ethical companies?
