Through the individual narratives of Esperanza, Lucia, and Paloma, we see these mujeres y madres navigating intersectional systems and structures. Later, we see where and how schools fit into these intersectional systems and structures. For this activity, work in small groups to construct a Venn diagram/logic map that highlights the intersections of the various structures, institutions, and organizations that were navigated by Esperanza, Lucia, Paloma, and MC. Consider the multiple points of convergence that occurred in each individual narrative as well as the actors involved and the implications these intersecting points have for school leaders.
