Assume you own or manage a small lodging or food service establishment.

Write a nepotism policy for your establishment. If you choose to write a no nepotism policy, be sure to include sound reasoning and principles for your policy. If you choose to allow the hiring of relatives, be sure to qualify your policy in such a way as to clarify reporting relationships among supervisors, departments, and relatives, where applicable. Locate one other student in your class who has written a policy that is the opposite of your policy and attempt to convince the student to change his or her policy to reflect your own. Were you successful in changing the other student’s mind? Why or why not? Be prepared to present your policy and findings to the rest of the class.
