There are rumors that the European Parliament is broadly in favor of imposing a blanket EU minimum wage. In traditionally high cost countries, wages will be driven down and in most of the rest of the EU wage costs will increase dramatically. If passed by the parliament, this is going to mean significant changes to wage and salary structures across the EU and multinationals will need clear HR guidance.
