It is helpful to consider appropriate measures of success for a change initiative. Thinking of a change initiative that is currently under way in your organization (or a change that is taking place in an organization with which you are familiar), identify the measures that you think should be applied, and list them in the following table. By ticking the appropriate column ), note which type of measures you have identified. It may be possible to classify any one measure in more than one category; brand image, for example, may be lagging, external, and non-cost.

If the measures that you are proposing do not include all six types of measures, you need to explain why the “missing” types are not included. If you cannot give a good explanation, you may need to propose additional measures.
