Go to https://www.bls.gov/cps/tables.htm. Select the year 2017 and click on CPS Table 18, “Employed persons by detailed industry, sex, race, and Hispanic or Latino ethnicity” Do the same for the year 2002. Download the data from both years. From the data sets, choose two occupations where the percentage of women in the occupation has increased from 2002 to 2017, and two occupations where the percentage of women has decreased. Using concepts from this chapter, explain why you believe these increases and decreases have occurred over this 15-year period.
