Nadler come to the topic of motivation from a managerial point of view. His discussion of Victor Vroom's Expectancy Theory can be termed a transaction theory of motivation, where motivation is dependent upon the value we place of a possible reward and the probabilities and expectations of attaining that reward. Dan Pink presents a contrary view of motivation, one that is more intrinsic. So as a manager, which approach resonates most with you and your experiences?
