Bidirectional Bus
A bidirectional bus is a bus where the flow of data can occur in both directions. This can be
realized by eg placing the inputs and outputs of the component LS on a mutual bus.
In this case, the data that is placed on the bus is supposed to be stored by the component and
outputted in the next phase.
This can of course result in a bus conflict, eg when a data word is placed on the bus and
simultaneously the bus is supposed to read out data which is stored in the component
LS This would mean that two transmitters exist: the component LS on the one
hand and the user of Workview who is trying to place data on the bus on the other hand.
In order to avoid a bus conflict, the bus needs to be placed into a state of high impedance by
using the letter Z as an in put. Now, the data can be outputted from the component.
The following is the impulse diagram of the simulation:

Explain the simulation steps by using the impulse diagram Step size and the data
sheet for the LS
Q: In which time frame is the data placed on the bus?
Q: In which time frame is the data stored in the component LS
Q: In which time frame is the data read out of the component LS
Q: In which time frame does the bus conflict take place? How could that have been avoided?
