I am currently teaching K-5 MLs at Chesney Elementary School. While my primary duty is instructing academic language and content in K-5 MLs, I have simultaneously been involved in many leadership roles. First, I have been charged to create the ESOL teachers' schedule every year to provide equitable instruction for all students in grades K-5. I also made the ACCESS standardized assessment schedule school-wide to run smoothly and less interrupt instructional time for eight weeks. It resulted in 92% of MLs improving at least one band. Second, as the ML department required all certified teachers to take the WIDA ELD 2020 Standard training, I planned to provide systematic in-person or online training. I facilitated in-person training teachers after school. About 98% of certified teachers completed the training as of March 6, 2024. At the beginning of the school year, I presented the overview of the ML program to provide great insight to all staff. Also, throughout the school year, I outlined and presented to each grade level how to provide strategies of differentiated instruction, materials, and assessments for MLs to access their learning, which impacts their performance. Recently, as a director of iReady Dash for K-5 students on Saturdays, I supported the iReady Dash team in planning with the AKSs and the iReady groupings, the development and distribution of materials, arrival and dismissal of students, and building safety. I also currently play an essential role on a committee of the Grades 3-5 March Madness, K-5 Master Schedule, and GMAS Preparation. Lastly but not least, I am a provisional teacher's supervisor to ensure the teacher completes his clinical field experience and student teaching successfully to equip a better teacher.
