1. Find an infant or toddler toy (you can use one you have at home or go to the toy aisle at a store or online to find one). Briefly describe the toy (color, shape, size, sounds, actions, etc.) and analyze each for the emerging perceptual/motor/social skills that the infant or toddler would use to interact with the toy. For what age is the toy intended? How do you think the toy might encourage development?

2. Does the availability of such toys stimulate development? What are the benefits of toys for an infant or toddler? Do you think (store-bought) toys are necessary for normal development? Why or why not?
