Right now, there is no real budget or initiative where we could fit Ansible Automation Platform, but perhaps down the road we can. If we eventually migrate off Puppet or BMC Bladelogic, we might be willing to pay for Ansible Automation Platform.

We are prioritizing our automation initiative because several work streams rely on it$.$ We need Ansible Automation Platform to complete our cloud migration project in time to meet our contract with AWS.

Our CIO has mandated that everything with AWS must be done with AWS CloudFormation. They have standardized

on it for some time and set up an entire community of practice on automation that is focused on CloudFormation and Terraforms. Adding another tool like Ansible Automation Platform does not make sense given the recent investments we have made.

We are using community Ansible and have been very happy with it$,$ but on a small scale.

The SVP is pushing a lot of dramatic changes to the network group and is interested in meeting with you to learn more about how Red Hat has helped other customers with their network automation workstreams.

Question: Which customer response would lead you to proceed with caution based on a network$/$edge automation use case?

We are using Itential Pronghorn with Ansible built in$.$ I do not think Ansible Automation Platform makes sense given the investment and network$-$specific functionality that Itential Pronghorn offers us$.$ Also the networking team does not collaborate with the other groups; we want to keep our automation program specific to only networking and we have invested a lot of time and resources in Itential Pronghorn.

Our partner WWT$/$Ahead$/$Converge has been talking up Ansible, and we want to go with an enterprise platform such as Ansible Automation Platform for our network transformation program to get closer to NetOps.

We are automating parts of our network but not programmatically and not as part of a larger automation program. It is more of a grassroots initiative where some people are using community Ansible for their

individual responsibilities.

We have invested a lot in Cisco NSO as part of a larger Cisco buy we made years ago. However, despite that investment, parts of our organization are still using community Ansible and not NSO, and they are doing it without explicit management approval or sponsorship.
