The demographics are roughly 40% caucasian, 25% African-American, 15% Asianllndian, 15% hispanic, 5% \"other." On the anniversary of Charlottesville, Shane thought it would be a good idea to wear a t-shirt with the Confederate flag. A couple of his friends, John Gallas and Ron Koch, opted to wear similar shirts. Within about 15 minutes, the three were told by school ofcials to go home and change their shirts and return to class, change into \"gym clothes" or face suspension of three days. The three boys refused and were promptly sent home and suspended for three days. The boys' families filed a lawsuit, claiming their First Amendment rights to free expression were violated. In the suit, the students pointed out that other students were seen in school wearing shirts that had other topics such as "Free PalestinefStop Jewish Settlements," "Lock Her Up," \"I Stand With Kavanaugh\" and "Black Lives Matter."
