2. Do Double Stuf Oreo cookies live up to their name? A group of statistics students decided to find out. They randomly selected 60 Double Stuf Oreos and 60 regular Oreos from packages purchased at their local store. Each cookie was carefully separated into two halvs and the filling was craped off using a flat blade. The filling was then weighed to the nearest hundredth of a gram. The mean weight for the Double Stuf Oreos was 6.59 g with a standard deviation of 0.32 g. The mean weight for the Regular Oreos was 3.13 g with a standard deviation of 0.14 g.

a. The students first wanted to know if Double Stuf Oreos have more filling on average than regular Oreos. Define the parameters and state the hypotheses for this test.

b. Calculate the sample statistic (be sure to use correct notation)

c. Are the conditions for doing the appropriate analysis met? Explain.

d. Regardless of your answer to the previous question, compute the appropriate test statistic. (SE = 0.04509)

e. What are the correct (conservative) degrees of freedom for a t-distribution for this test?

f. Find the p-value using StatKey.

g. Using = 0.05, what do you conclude? (remember that conclusions have two parts...)

h. Construct a 95% confidence interval for the difference in the two means. Write a sentence interpreting your confidence interval.

i. Based on your interval, do you think that Double Stuf Oreos are really "double stuff"? Why or Why not?
