2. Program the various parts of the Theis equation into the designated cells under the headings "W(u: terms," "Calculations," and "Answer." This will require you to enter appropriate formulas for "u" using equation 3-2 and then each term of the Theis Well Function, W(u), and to sum these terms to compute the total value of W(u) according to equation 3-3 in the Reference Book. Then compute the drawdown created by the fire-protection well at a distance of 7500 feet after 40 years of continuous pumping at 900 gpm using equation 3-4 for the drawdown term (see Reference Book). In creating the cell formulas to calculate each portion of the Theis equation, refer to the cell addresses that contain th necessary values (e.g., D7 for \"Q") instead of typing in the actual value. This will allow you to change parameters and have EXCEL automatically update the W(u), u, and drawdown calculations. 3. Once you have completed this, calculate the drawdown predicted by the Theis equation at each radial distance listed in Table 1 on the "DistanceDrawdown" worksheet. This is completed by II II changing the value of the radial distance r in cell D10. Record each of the computed drawdowns in Table 1. 4. Calculate the drawdown at the same distances used in the previous step but use a time of pumping (t) of 1 year by changing the value of time in cell Bil. Record these drawdowns in Table 2. 5. Once the table of drawdowns is completed, the data are plotted automatically on the arithmetic ant semi-logarithmic graphs of distance versus drawdown
