Given Hi=10 m and H2 = 4 m, and neglecting viscous effects, find: (a.) the uniform speeds V1 and V2 at each cross-section; (b.) the gage pressures P, at location A & B along the bottom at upstream and downstream locations 1 and 2; (c) the horizontal force Rx per unit width (kN/m) required to hold the gate. A static pressure probe is mounted in the gate at depth h = 2m (pt C), fills with water and reads a manometer height h=1 m. (d.) At C, compute the stagnation gage pressure Pgoc and speed down along the gate V. Hint: 1st apply Bernoulli , 10m to either the top or bottom streamlines; recall that Pis D 26 hydrostatic normal to streamlines
