4.7. Practical Completion Certificate The owner has been requested by the builder to attend on site for a Practical Completion Inspection (or final inspection). Some items are identified as minor omissions or defects but they do not prevent practical completion or completion form being reached. The following item are noted: There is a mortar joint to be filled adjacent to the family external door Complete the bedding of the ridge tiles The single door to the store cupboard is hung on the wrong hand The tiling to the main bathroom shower recess is one row short The timber decking needs a facing board to be fixed (the decking edge and joist are visible). Complete the form using the contract details previously provided and list the above items. Where your state/ territory contract does not require a formal "certificate of practical completion" prepare a document that lists these items for Mr Bonde and the builder to acknowledge. Remember you are agreeing with the owner the defects that are to be attended to so be prescriptive to ensure the work is well described to enable the owner and others to know what is agreed and required to be attended to
