These parts exhibit various features, including punched and embossed codes, welding, and other characteristics that can emerge after extended use, such as creep. They have been using 2D machine vision methods to detect and measure these features/characteristics, but have found this approach limiting. Explain the drawbacks of employing a purely 2D approach for this application. [4 marks]
