A 1 m long and 1 cm thick steel rod initially at 400 K is placed between 2 supports whose temperature are maintained at 500 K (x = 0) and 450 K (x = 4 m). Estimate the time required for temperature at x = 0.5 m to reach 450 K. Also generate a plot of temperature vs x when temperature at x = 0.5 has reached 410 K where x is distance along the length of the rod.
Given that Thermal conductivity of rod = 20 W/(m*K) Thermal diffusivity of rod = 4 *10-6 m2/s
