A 12m thick loose sand deposit as shown in figure q3 is densified by sand compaction pile (SCP) method, the process of deep densification is carried out on a square pattern. The maximum void ratio of the sand deposit is 1.5 and the minimum void ratio is 0.9 obtained from a laboratory TEST. From the spt, average N60 values obtained at a different depth of the deposit before densification. The groundwater table is 3m below ground level. Calculate the ratio of settlement of loose sand deposit in part (a) with and without SCP improvement given that a wide earth embankment of 5m in height is built on the sand deposit.
