A constructed wetland is designed to treat the wastewater of a small community that currently has no access to a wastewater treatment facility and discharges

A constructed wetland is designed to treat the wastewater of a small community that currently has no access to a wastewater treatment facility and discharges the sewage untreated into a nearby river. The faster the wastewater is passed through the new constructed wetland, the more economical it is going to be, but there is concern that water might not be treated effectively and thereby pollute a nearby creek where the treated water is discharged.

To evaluate this, three different experiments are run, one at a flow of 1L/sec, one at 2L/sec and one at 4L/sec. The total dissolved solids (TDS) concentration is measured in the treated water for several days for each treatment to determine differences in the TDS in the three treatments. Conduct an ANOVA analysis to evaluate whether there are differences between the treatments, and which treatments are different from each other. In your answer

  1. State the null and alternative hypothesis
  2. Make an appropriate graph for comparing the three data sets. Paste it into your Word doc.Interpret the graphical comparison.
  3. Assess the requirements for running an ANOVA analysis. Explain and show what you did to assess the requirements. Evaluate whether the requirements are met.
  4. Conduct an ANOVA test and paste in the results.
  5. Assess your hypotheses using the ANOVA results in part D (usea(alpha) value of 0.05).
  6. Run a post-hoc Tukey test and explain which data sets are different from each other (if any).
