A hydrocarbon mixture with the following compositions is to be separated at 5atm. Your objective is to determine which first separation step is best, either a flash tank or distillation (FUG Method) column by performing both calculations. Compare the results of your calculations justify (write a reason) for your selection. Note: Use the corresponding last 4 digest to select your compositions. A ternary mixture of water, ethanol and acetonitrile with the normal boiling points of the three components in being 100C,78.4C and 82C respectively. The mixture forms a ternary boiling azeotropes are formed between water and ethanol at 75.1C(0.15 water comp) as well as between ethanol and acetonitrile at 72.9C(0.45 acetonitrile comp). An additional Azeotrope is formed between water and acetonitrile at 83.9C(0.3 water comp). - Plot a residue curve map for the ternary mixture as well as distillation lines and shade product-composition region when two feeds are given: F1 =0.1 ethanol, 0.1 Acetonitrile and 0.8 water F2 =0.5 ethanol, 0.3 Acetonitrile and 0.2 water
