A piece out of Netflix called "The Social Dilemma" indicates if you are not being sold a product you are the product.  It goes on to explain that Google is determining what to show us and Facebook, Google and others are compiling information about us and predicting what will drive us to continue to scroll, share or buy.  The concern is they are using our behavior to drive us, addict us to where they want us to go.
