A real estate agency is interested in the importance of a home theatre to potential home buyers. They identify three groups of buyers: (a) single people; (b) couples with no children; and (c) couples with children, and decide to survey them about this issue. They ask 10 people from each category the following question: "How important is a home theatre when deciding to purchase a new home?" A 5 point rating scale from 1 (not at all important) to 5 (most important) is used to collect the data. The participants' responses to this question are summarised in Table 1. Histograms indicate that the three distributions are roughly equivalent in terms of shape and spread. We can conclude that the shape of the distributions assumption has not been violated
