(a) What is the difference between absolute and relative humidity? Under what conditions will the numerical values of dry bulb and wet buib temperatures be identical? Cooling water leaves the condenser of a power plant and enters a wet cooling tower at 45C at a rate of 100kg/s. Water is cooled to 22C in the cooling tower by air that enters the tower at 1atm,10C, and 60% relative humidity and leaves saturated at 28C. Answer the following questions, neglecting any power input to the fan. (b) Draw a schematic diagram of the cooling tower, clearly marking the inlets and outlets of air and cooling water, makeup water, the temperatures, relative humidity and flow rates that are known. (c) Determine the volumetric flow rate of air into the cooling tower, clearly stating your assumptions. (d) Determine the mass flow rate of the required make up water. (e) Clearly list any assumptions that you have made and provide justification for the assumptions
