1. A. For study 1, the population of interest are the people of South Carolina. As Col of 2020, the population of South Carolina was 5.092 million. However we are only interested in people who have high blood pressure and/or people who consume a lot of salt. 1. B. For study 1, we should split the sample into two different groups. During a time period, one group will consume a lot of salt, while the other group does not. We will then check their blood pressure levels and see if there is a difference be- tween the two groups. We will be using observation to watch the levels of salt and the blood pressure. 1. C. Census is not possible for this study because the amount of people with high blood pressure in the state of South Carolina is too large. 1. D. Stratified sampling can be used because we need to expect the interest cal- culation to be different between different groups and subgroups. This includes sex and age. I would sample all of the people in South Carolina that have high blood pressure. 2. A. For study 2, the interesting population is the number of students at enrolled at GMC. for 2019-2020, the number of students enrolled at GMC were about 16,000. 2. B.
