According to Joseph A. Melusky and Keith A. Pesto (2017), a report by Professor David Baldus to the American Bar Association found statistical evidence of racial bias in over 20 states. The key finding in almost all of these studies was that those who murder a white victim are much more likely to be sentenced to death than those who killed a black person
